a small insight into my life: wife-mom-football-fitness-politics-religion~upcycle
~This blog is NOT based on religion or “Jesus.” The title stems from me being overly sarcastic….I do not believe in creationism on any level….. Yes, my belief system is scientific and fact based; leaning more towards evolutionary views ….therefore Jesus was a primate
My name is eriKa,
I’m 30 (ish)
wife: (12 years and counting)
mommy: (1 amazing 10yr old son)
& 2 dogs: Turkey & Bravo

I’m an Arizona native and love everything about this amazing state, most importantly the weather. I’ll take 100+ degrees in the summer for 2 months, to be able to have 70 degrees for 8 months out of the year.
I have many obsessions!
Football is my biggest one. AZ Cardinals for life! Fantasy football & being a crazy football mom define me.
I’m a Massage Therapist by trade, Entrepreneur by passion, I love what I do…..but if you ever try to associate me with Massage Envy, I will throat punch you.
Liberal thinker~~Politics is another obsession of mine.
I love to craft and thrift and upcycle.
I’m sarcastic.
I am constantly over sharing and being judgmental. (I’m working on being less judgmental, but it’s going to be a life long battle that I may never win)
Science is another obsession, which leads to my un~obsession with religion.
I’m into fitness and nutrition. My goal
this year is to have a better body than on my wedding day when I was 19 & in great shape.
I love playing craps in Vegas & Bingo at local casinos.
I’m addicted to Pepsi
Did I mention, I’m sarcastic??
Tattooed….and Yes, I have a requisite bad tattoo
I take way to many selfies & spend way to much time on Facebook
I’m a believer, giver, and dreamer!
Don’t be shy, say “hello” !!
OK – I’m in! And perhaps you can answer a question. Since I’ve started blogging lo these 27 days, I’ve read many references to “fantasy football”. Please, would you enlighten me? I could google it, but this would be more fun.
Quite like the name states, players of fantasy football (FF) pick their “Fantasy” football team. The best quarterback, wide receivers, running backs, tight ends, kicker and a defense.
You join a league, usually 8-12 FF “teams” per league. There is a draft. Taking turns, each person picks their fantasy players.
Once the football season starts: each week the teams have “head to head” match ups.
As the actual NFL games are played your fantasy player gains points based on how well he performed in his game. Points are scored for touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards, rushing yards, & so on.
So if Peyton Manning is your fantasy QB. He throws 3 touchdown passes (6 points each), 300 throwing yards (1 point for each 10 yards) and he had one interception (-6 points). He would have given you 42 points.
Does that make sense?
It does! And I thank you for the detailed response! I think I remember guys at work involved in something similar years ago. Didn’t pay much attention to it, though.
Nice blog. I like how you think.
Thanks. Thinking is always a good place to start 🙂
I’m still not very good at it, as it hurts a lot if do it too much, but I’m trying.
I do like your style.
Craps and Blackjack for me!
Love Vegas (probably too much)
Vegas is a 5hr drive for me… Just far enough to keep me in check.
I was stationed in San Diego for five years. Needless to say, I made that drive to Vegas often. Very Often. Very Very Often. Usually after closing down a bar.
Me to buddy: “It’s OK. We can sober up on the road.”
Buddy: “Let’s roll!”
Awesome! Love it!!
*i don’t advocate drinking and driving*
Figured I needed a disclaimer…
Hahha.
Yeah me neither. But back then I thought I was bullet proof. I discovered I wasn’t before I got myself in trouble (or dead)
